The lightweight steel structure is a new kind of steel structures.It has been developed most rapidly and applied widely in industrial, residential and public buildings with much its advantages, such as fast and easy construction , attractive appearance, light weight , low constructive price, etc. Low-rise lightweight steel residence includes frame system,lightweihgt steel joist system and multiribbed posts systems etc.Using lightweight structure in residence is still in origination period in China. Our technology thus has big gap with America, Europe or Japan. Especially in low-rise residence. For study, we choose low-rise lightweight steel residence which was conducted in the Urumqi city as the case. On the base of the two case constrast, to select proper pillar net arranges,The beam pillar section etc. According to maintaining material circumstance in the location, and join together the Xinjiang's characteristics, it can make sure the project of maintenance. In this paper, Under the consideration of stressed skin diaphragm the low-rise lightweight steel frame structure is made by finite element analysis software SAP2000. The seismic performance in low-rise lightweight steel residence by using modal analysis method and other methods is analyzed. In addition, it got the seismic response features about low-rise lightweight steel structure. The paper can be a reference for designers on low-rise lightweight steel residence.
