In this paper, three-dimensional numerical simulation of tangentially-wide furnace combustion for a 600MW supercritical coal-fired boiler by using numerical calculation software, deriving the distributions of temperature field, velocity field, gas components field in the furnace. Fouling layer wall which is more easily formed is obtained through analysis of the results, and comparisons are made between the wall temperature and softening temperature that can determine the contents contaminated easily of the regional chamber. The results illustrate that the proposed approach of furnace contamination can be more accurate in judging slag-off location. Meanwhile, practical values such as preventing slag-off, reducing boiler accident, improving boiler efficiency were also recommended.
