Of late decades, as urban rail transit network has been expanding, the problems on connecting and transferring between rail transit line net has become a subject in urgent need of research, and transfer stations are more important regarding its function and effect. Consequently,the systematic study and efficiency evaluation on transfer stations not only can enhance the efficiency of transfer stations and utilization of rail transit, attract more passenger flow, optimize the plan and design of transfer stations, but also will increase economic benefit of traffic planning and produce more social benefit for the surrounding area.The article firstly introduces the basic theory on transfer station of urban rail transit, and elaborates the relation between the pattern of transfer stations and lines, along with the classifying and contrasting of transferring modes. Meanwhile, the factors on choosing transfer modes are also analyzed.Then, the influencing factors of operation and coordination efficiency of transfer stations are analyzed and studied in detail from two aspects as facility and passenger flow. The analysis of facility and instrument mainly involves the platform, stairs and escalator, booth floor, passageway and entrance. The analysis of passenger flow involves the macroscopic and microscopic behavior characteristics of passengers in transfer stations, as well as exchanging passenger flow's conflicts, bottleneck and delay in moving which have great influence on transferring efficiency.After comparing different evaluating methods, the article applies method of DEA (that is Data enveloping analysis) and C2WH mode based on AHP (that is Analysis hierarchy process) preference constraint cone to build the operation and coordination efficiency evaluation system of transfer stations of urban rail transit.Lastly, taking the transfer stations in Guangzhou metro for example, from three respects that is no-preference, decision maker's preferring convenience and rapidity or preferring comfort and safety, DEA and C2WH mode based on AHP preference constraint cone are applied to evaluate the operation and coordination effection of transfer stations of Guangzhou metro practically and effectively. In the end, through analyzing evaluating results, it is easy to know the operation and coordination efficiency and the utilization of facility resources of every transfer station, and how to improve the coordination efficiency of transfer station.
