With the rapid development of national economy, city populations grow day by day,accompanied by the quick growth of traffic demand. At the same time, the problem of increasingly serious traffic congestion and hard travelling has brought great challenges to the steady and rapid development of the city. Along with the characteristics of large volume,high speed, safety, high punctuality rate etc., the urban rail transit is of great significance to improve the city traffic congestion, to promote travel efficiency and the economic development, which has become a good choice for the sustainable development of the city public transport as well. As the link of the urban rail transit network, promoting the travel efficiency of the transfer station has a positive effect on the operation of the whole network.This paper takes the transfer station of urban rail transit network as the research object,summarizes the relevant concept such as the meaning of transfer station, transfer station layout and transfer mode, and then the related basic theory of city rail transit network is elaborated, as well as the passenger flow probability distribution from time and space.Besides, transfer passenger flow characteristics, transfer facilities and train organization are elaborated as the three aspects of the transfer efficiency influencing mechanism. On this basis, the passenger route choice behavior of urban rail transit is described.After that, this paper makes a simple analysis of the transfer process, pointing out the relevant variables as transfer walking time, transfer waiting time, train arrival-departure time and dwell time, transfer passenger volume. Through analyzing these variables, a model minimizing the total transfer waiting time is established. In the meanwhile, an algorithm based on genetic algorithm.to optimize the model is designed according to the characteristics of the model.Finally, the proposed model and algorithm are applied to the simplified network of Shenzhen urban rail transit including 3 lines and 5 transfer stations. Through analyzing and processing the data in AFC system, using MATLAB R2014a to run the program, the results show that the passenger transfer waiting time both in the transfer stations and in the lines have been optimized, and the optimization effect is ideal.
