With the development of wind power generation, the proportion of it is getting increasingly larger in power system. The forecasting of generating capacity as well as the improvement of reliability and economical efficiency have already been research issues of great importance. Many researches on how to forecast wind power generation have been conducted both home and abroad. However, only a few analysis have been conducted on the economical benefits based on power generation forecasting. First in the thesis, the forecasting of both wind speed and power generation is made by using SVM Matlab toolbox as a platform. the forecasting validity of SVM Matlab toolbox, when compared with the forecasting of wind power generation by RBF neural network approach, turns out to be better. Finally, based on the research of the electric dispatching in China and the factors that affect the wind power tariff,and taking the advanced experience of foreign countries into consideration, the thesis analyzes the improvement of economic benefits by using the forecasting of wind power generation in China.
