Application Of XPON And Industrial Ethernet Technologies In Distribution Network

Communication restricts medium and low-voltage DN of 35kV and below. According to the business and features of DAS, the paper analyses the demands to communication system. The networking application of optical modem in DAS is introduced briefly, xPON and Industrial Ethernet Technology are researched importantly. Throughput and other performance of EPON and Industrial Ethernet Technology Switch are tested by IXIA Data Network Analyzer. On this basis, their applicability and maturity of applying in DAS is analyzed. Last, the Networking application is proposed.The paper argues that the future Smart DN increases the demands of communication capacity and reliability, which needs Optical Communication of high-Broadband and high-protection to realize, so xPON and Industrial Ethernet will be applied in DAS.
