This paper summed up the relevant theory of supervisory control system, introduced the history and development of wind power monitoring system. The common methods of developing monitoring system were studied and compared, and specific researches are related to Virtual Instrument-LabVIEW and its DSC Modeul which is applied for development of professional monitoring systems in industry.Solutions of data acquisiton and data storage are discussed. This paper completed the design of software and configuration of hardware, including the selection of communication method and the configuration of data acquisition. Virtual instruments of supervisory control system were developed with LabVIEW. The system features were as follows:communication with PLC controller, communication with SIMULINK models, display of real-time data, calculated data and history data, alarming according to different faults and abnormal conditons, storage of real-time data and alarm data, inqury of historical data. Superviosry Control System based on Virtual Instrument was multifunctional, user-friendly and short development cycle, reflecting the superiority of the virtual instrument. The application of DSC Modeul effectively shortens the time of programming for communication and database.
