Study On The Existing Residential Areas Environment Renovation In Dalian

After having gone through the massive construction in 20th century 70's to 90's, there are lots of existing residential areas. These existing residential areas environment need a renovation badly because they have been aging old and all functions have been so backward, failed to meet the growing desire of material culture and spiritual life of resident.This article takes the existing residential areas which constructed during 20th century 70's to 90's in Dalian as research object, and studies on renovation of the existing residential environment. By the research mode of "Open Building", according to research content the existing housing is divided to three aspects:Tissue, Support and Infill. Firstly, according to research based on literature, under the historical background of housings development of China, the article detailed the construction history of housings and summed up the spatial distribution of existing housings in Dalian. Then based on the survey of four representative existing housings in Dalian city, the major questions of existing residential environment in Dalian are summed from three aspects above, such as the lack of planning of commercial facilities, the desperation of public space and the lack of detailed and clearly divided space. In addition, the article proposes the recommendations about the principle of the existing housing environment regeneration based the diversity, duration, historical continuity, and public participation.According to the major questions and summary of home and abroad cases, according to Tissue, Support and Infill, this article proposes targeted methods and represents these by pictures. In the regeneration of Tissue, from the point of relation between housings environment and urban environment, the article proposes some approaches such as creating Living Street space, resuming the street life, and fully combining the green landscape and traffic space with urban. In the regeneration of Support, according to the new configuration of residential areas called "housings-housings environment-neighborhood courtyard", the existing housings spatial configuration are renovated, through addition, insertion, back out and rebuild. In the regeneration of Infill, some regenerated approaches are proposed for public transport space, exterior envelope, and energy-saving update of house.Finally, the partial block in Chunliu residential areas is chose as the regenerated design object. Then according to specific situation, the article do some simulation of design for housing environment by the new methods which the article has proposed, in order to create a good housing environment that promotes exchanges between residents and meets community needs.
