There are a series of social and spatial problems in contemporary European and American countries,such as poverty agglomeration,environmental deterioration and increasing contradictions among different strata,caused by economic level and social status,housing policy and ethnic differences.The concept of mixed residence,considered as an effective strategy to deal with such problems,has become the focus of attention in various countries,and has been applied to housing policy and planning guidance.Since the marketization of housing in 1980 s,due to the influence of factors such as developer orientation and individual residence choice,the phenomenon of simplification of population structure,unreasonable allocation of resources and isolation of community space has gradually emerged.Therefore,mixed housing type and household type are paid attention to in the planning of new residential areas,but in the renewal of old residential areas,which are increasingly prominent in this kind of phenomenon,the single renewal strategy of "large demolition and large construction" and the improvement of building environment and performance is mostly adopted.Therefore,under the theoretical guidance of mixed residential mode,this paper combs the population structure,spatial structure and functional structure of the old residential areas,and analyses the decline phenomenon of the existing residential areas in China caused by residential segregation and lack of neighborhood communication.Applying the method of block renewal to form multifaceted mixed open residential areas,improve the living quality,promote neighborhood and social interaction,and strengthen the interaction between residential areas and cities,so as to realize the sustainable development of residential areas and cities.In this paper,the old residential areas in the urban central district built in Dalian from 1980 s to 1990 s are taken as the research object,and the existing problems are analyzed and summarized from the perspective of mixed residence,and the specific spatial operation methods of block renewal are put forward.The main research includes six parts:In the first part,the paper defines the object,scope and direction of this study by elaborating on the specific concepts and connotations of mixed residential mode and block renewal method.By describing the background of the problem and the current research situation,the purpose and significance of the topic selection are explained.The second part is about the development,policy implementation and practice of related theories at home and abroad.Through the analysis of representative practical cases,the advantages and disadvantages of its application methods are summarized.The third and fourth parts,guided by the above theoretical and practical summaries,from the urban planning to residential planning level,deeply analyze the existing main problems and causes of the old residential areas built in the 1980 s to 1990 s in the central city of Dalian.The methods of data query and field investigation for selected representative objects are classified and summarized from the above three structural levels.The fifth part is based on the content of the second,third and fourth parts.On this basis,this paper puts forward the idea of applying the concept of mixed residence to the operation method of block renewal from three aspects: population structure,spatial structure and functional structure,as well as the main content of this study.Starting from the population structure,this paper explores the content of mixed residence and serves as the theoretical guidance for the latter two levels.From the level of spatial structure and functional structure,this paper summarizes the specific spatial operation methods of block renewal of existing residential areas.In the last part,Taishan residential area in downtown Dalian is selected as the object of trial design,and its specific problems are classified and summarized.Guided by the method of the fifth part,the specific renewal design scheme is put forward.Through the prospect of the results of the trial design,the conclusion of this study is put forward to provide new ideas for the renewal of old residential areas.
