What is the direction of architectural design and human constructional activities, faced up to the environmental and ecological problems as well as the cultural crisis and the globalization? The benefit of technological developments is at the cost of the earth devastation. Under such a situation, ecology, green, low carbon and environmental protection become the major issues again. From an ecological view, this paper analyses the theoretical evolvement of ecology of western and eastern, concludes the interactive practice between ecological architecture and the environment, summarizes the strategy of Interactive Architecture-environmental Design from the aspects of informational exchange, energetic exchange as well as material cycling exchange, and proposes specific interactive technique in terms of the relationship between architecture and place, architectural form, space and skin maintenance. The aim is to widen the view of architectural practice, provide an ecological methodology, and lead to a way about how to build an appropriate relationship between architecture and environment. The creative achievements are as follows:Firstly, to complement the contents of interactive architecture-environment practices in terms of digital technology and media transformation; Secondly, to make a further conclusion of design methods based on strategetic summaries; thirdly, to propose the existing problems in technological adoption and maintaining managements through case studies. Architecture system and ecological system are both complex ones. Due to the environmental variety and unevenly distributed resources, it is not easy to define a standard pattern for Interactive Architecture-environmental Design. This research studies only primarily in the field of architectural and environmental interaction. Further modification will be taken out theoretically and practically in the future.
