Superconducting magnet which is working in the power system will encounter a variety of dynamic processes. The quench may occur on superconducting magnet while superconducting magnet is bearing the excessive pulse such as short-circuit current and unbalance current. The quench of superconducting magnet not only changes the electrical parameters of superconducting device, but also makes some effects on the secure,stable and economic running of the superconducting power system. So the quench detection and protection of superconducting magnet is one of the problem which need to be systematically studied in the practical application of superconducting electric power technology.In order to realize the quench detection and protection of superconducting energy storage hybrid magnet, this thesis chooses partial active power detecting method and proposes a voltage correction circuit which is used on hybrid magnet, also designs and finishes the hardware of quench detection system. The quench detection system can detect the quench signal of superconducting hybrid device quickly and accurately.Active method is used as quench protection methods. This thesis has designed and explored a quench protection circuit with the technology of DSP, also has debugged the hardware and compiled the program. The result shows that the quench protection circuit can meet the request of quench protection basically.Quench detection system, quench protection circuit and SMES monitoring system are linked by quench protection monitoring unit. This thesis uses DSP to realize the control of the three, introduces the development of liquid crystal display systems and related software programs, specific judgments of the coil quench and the control of the liquid crystal display. Experimental results show that the quench protection monitoring units not only can display the working condition correctly on the LCD interface in all systems, but also can control quench protection circuit based on the quench signal and instruction of SMES monitoring system.
