DouZhuang village is located in Qin Shui county, Shan Xi province of China. It is a village with a long history which can be traced back to Song dynasty. The village has an ancient fortress-like construction style. In Ming and Qing dynasty, Dou village received a large-scale development, until now, a relatively big amount of historical buildings still can be seen there. In December 2008, Dou village was conferred the title of "Historic Village of China" by the Ministry of Construction and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. In this dissertation, the historical and cultural sights of Dou village are chosen as the study object with emphasis on the researches around their particularity and evolvement. The purpose of doing such researches is to provide some detailed reference material for the further conservation and development of Dou village, moreover, to create a practical case for the similar research work on other villages in China.Through several methods such as fieldwork, reconnaissance, literature review, quantitative analysis, logical induction and so on, the research work is carried out in combination with landscape ecology, landscape planning and other relative theory. At the beginning of this dissertation, an introduction about Dou village's culture, history and environment is presented. Based on this background, the static characteristics of the sights are analyzed from the overall design to details. Furthermore, an analysis of the evolvement of Dou village's sights is deployed. In the final part, an estimate on the sights' particularity and evolvement is made, reasons of the evolvement are given out and analyzed. In addition, there are several advices given out for Dou village's further work of conservation and development. Totally, there are 76 figures,40 references in this dissertation.
