Ancient Village Entrance Landscape Design Based On The Shuikou Culture

The ideal home is just the place with pink wall,black tile,crooked lane,small bridge and little water which could calm down our minds.“People would take the hometown in the heart by seeing the mountain and water of hometown.” This is the provincialism of most of the citizen who come from village.According to national statistics,during the last decade,the number of natural villages in our country reduced from 3.6 million to 2.7million with almost 0.9 million natural villages disappeared.In other ward,there are nearly 300 natural villages disappeared in one day,and these natural village covers many ancient village which has existed long time.So how to protect the ancient village in the wave of urbanization in order to provide a harbor of soul for the citizen has become a hotspot.The shuikou landscape is a unique form of the Chinese traditional landscape architecture,which contains many philosophical ideas.It is not only a masterpiece of nature remarking,but also the support of homesickness.For this reason,most of the remained Shuikou landscapes have become ideal places for tourism or reminiscence.However the most of natural village have faded into the history.The Longmen ancient town is a town which focused on the tourism.But in the environmental construction,especially the entrance construction,there was a shortcoming in the excavation of history.So applying the Shuikou landscape to the ancient entrance construction is meaningful for promoting traditional culture and the healthy development of the tourism.The superior natural pattern of Longmen town is considered as the ideal location of town.The Shuikou here is classical and beautiful,so two Shuikou landscapes were ever designed,some of which was reserved up to now.After being developed as a scenic spot,the Longmen Town was added another Shuikou(traffic Shuikou),forming a three-decker Shuikou pattern,which creates good conditions for Shuikou construction.This paper teased and summarized the formation,types,development,functions,landscape elements of the Shuikou landscape and the design principle of it based on the feasibility analysis.Then we combined the principle with the realistic condition of Longmen town and proposed the concepts of the “Shuikou landscape group” and “Shuikou landscape zone” which considered that one village could have more than one Shuikou in order to form spatial sequence and the design could magnify the pattern and the scale with the Shuikou as a center forming a larger planning region.Under the guide of this theory,we raised the whole planning design of Longmen town which contained the whole pattern and the landscape elements subentry planning.In addition to this,we also combined the Shuikou landscape culture with the Fuyang District precious colorful forest construction and proposed the planning design of Shuikou forest.
