Protection And Development Of Ancient Village Landscape System In The Southeasten Region Of Shanxi Province

With the rapid process of urbanization in China, so many stuff are vanishing before we think about or even recognize them, which directly or indirectly leads to the neglect of native elements in landscape design. We hope to find the lost memory of landscape from research on ancient village landscape system.As the traditional inhabitation of mankind, ancient villages are reflection of the farming culture for thousands of years. The landscape, an important carrier of village, has played an irreplaceable role. Ancient villages can provide a new kind of life experience as well as nourish the souls of us with the unique feature. Thus,this thesis,taking the ancient villages in the southeasten region of Shanxi Province as an exanple,makes a systematic analysis of its ancient villages within the geographical scope of the landscape, with a purpose of a more comprehensive study of ancient village landscape in order to better coordinate the protection and development of ancient villages.
