Studies On The Applications Of Ornamental Aromatic Plants In Landscaping Of Chengdu

Landscape gardening plants are being continuously updated and paid for more attention, because of the importance of its roles in the development of society, material and spiritual. With the rapid growth of China's socio-economic, people begin to attach importance to the protection function of ecological and environmental, ornamental aromatic plant has been valued in the city garden. Ornamental aromatic plant not only can achieve the purpose of greening, landscaping, Hong technology, cleaning up the environment and the landscape has a unique artistic conception of aromatic beauty and the deep meaning garden art.Chengdu is rich in aromatic ornamental resources within the superior condition of natural environment. There are over 30 kinds aromatic plants widely applied in gardens. As the setting of the goal to build a modern global rural garden city, Chengdu has faced a rapid increase of tourist flow as a famous target city, which brought both opportunity and obstacle for the maintaining and developing of ornamental aromatic plant landscape. How to make appropriate use of aromatic plants in landscape and completely perform the local characteristics of Chengdu City, it has become an emergent problem.This article makes a survey of four major flower markets and most flower companies in Chengdu, then points out that the types of the ornamental aromatic plant resources applied to Chengdu garden are 65 families and 128 genus and 159 species, through variety entification. This article makes a key survey of Chengdu city green land such as parks, main roads, residential areas, corparation and public service institutions and scenic spots. Then investigates and reseaches into the application of ornamental gardens of aromatic plants by the method of plant communities and ecology. It includes the type, classification, colors, source of aroma, adaptability, stress resistance, seed source, application frequency, ornamental characteristics, and applications of aromatic ornamental. Analysis shows that the application of aromatic plants in Chengdu ornamental is inadequate, the widely applied aromatic plant species are less, native ornamental aromatic plants application has not been seriously paid attention to, the color is so single, the smell landscape construction is not reasonable enough, the application and configuration is improper and the maintenance and management is inadequate. In view of these problems, this article makes optimization recommendations. Those include increasing new varieties of ornamental aromatic, emphasing aromatic-oriented view of the ecological effects and the fit of flavor, strengthening the status of the sense of smell and feel in landscape construction, strengthening the conservation and management to ensure the landscape relative stability.Through the research methods of literature review, field research, and summarizes, we analysis the prospect of application of the aromatic plants in Chengdu. And we recommended the seven forms of application in the garden of Chengdu such as aromatic special garden, garden plant care, blind garden, night garden, ecological fragrant garden, fragrant district, aromatic ecotourism park.
