Ornamental Fruit Trees Use In Urban Landscape Design

Ornamental fruit trees are set ornamental and edible in one of a class of fruit trees ingeneral. Flowers and fruit to be enjoyable and interesting of the ornamental fruit trees caneffectively increase the landscape sustainability，compare with common garden plants hasgreat superiority when used in urban landscape design. Though many experts and scholarshave done a lot of research on the species of ornamental fruit trees， cultivationmanagement and application， but relatively few works on ornamental characters，collocating principle and landscape planting.Firstly，based on a detailed study of ornamental fruit trees in the theory and practiceresearch at home and abroad，this paper gives a detailed analysis on the importance ofornamental fruit trees in the urban landscape design.And then according to the results ofprevious studies，the issue defines the concept of ornamental fruit tree；gives a form ontypes of ornamental fruit trees that applicable to the city landscape design；describes theecological benefits、landscape benefits、economic and social benefits generated in theurban landscape design.Secondly，through the research on types of ornamental fruit treesapplications to various green spaces in Nanchang，this paper complete a statistics on theornamental fruit tree species that were commonly used currently，in which conclusion atotal of36species，including17families，30genera，and the species of Rosaceae was themost result in10genus of14kinds.Then based on the above research and local actualsituation, summarizes59kinds of excellent ornamental fruit trees which are suitable toNanchang city and sums up the ornamental characteristics of the ornamental fruit trees, aswell as landscaping principles、common configurations. Later on, From the view of thelegendary allusions，poetic，Bede reward and the theory of geomantic omen, this articletries to find out the local cultural intension of the ornamental fruit trees in Nanchang.Finally， in the course of the investigation find that there are lots of problem in theapplication process of ornamental fruit trees. For example，the knowledgeable of public isnot deep enough；types of application is not rich and have a high repetition rate；theconfiguration is not ideal, ornamental fruit trees’ fruiting difficult which led to affectviewing；cultural expressions not strong；conservation management is not in place；thepublic has a low quality mechanical which damage to plants and etc. Afterwards，aiming atthese problems，this issue puts forward some measures to solve the problem，such as torich the ornamental fruit trees’ germplasm resource；fully tap the cultural connotation toembodies urban characteristics；follow the habits of plants in pre-configured；the latter tostrengthen the cultivation and management of plants；increase publicity and improve thequality of citizens and so on.
