The rational scale and layout of urban rail transit network not only affects the investment cost of engineering construction, and determines the track traffic systematic operation effect and function played in the urban traffic system. So the research on the network scale and planning scheme optimization of urban rail transit is significant. The main research contents of this paper are as follows:1. Firstly discussed the main factor of influencing the rational scale of urban rail transit network.Having analyzed the characteristics of the commonly used network reasonable scale estimate methods at present. On this foundation, take the concrete city as an example, carred on the rational scale estimation of network from the angles of urban traffic demands and network service level separately. Obtain the rational scale of this city in the near future (in 2020) and in the prospect (from 2020 to 2050).2. Having analyzed the pluses and minuses of the middle and small network and large-scale network of urban rail transit and impact on city's development separately. This paper makes a summing-up on the network structural shapes of urban rail transit suitable for three kinds of urban structure.3. According to principles that evaluation indexes are set up, having discussed the setting-up of the network evaluation index system from four respects:operation effect, network structure, city development's coordination, feasibility of the project.4. Having analyzed the characteristics of several kinds of network evaluation methods. This paper adopted fuzzy AHP and fuzzy optimal theory model to appraise the best planning scheme of concrete city.Has verified the feasibility of the method.
