The globalization brings about one-way output in culture, which leads to aimless worship to western modern architecture, short of confidence in national culture and the mess in current architecture field in China to some extent. It is an urgent question in front of Chinese architects to create architecture culture which both contains traditional culture and fits the modern life to against the globalization.Space is the origin meaning where architecture relies on. The article starts the research with the integrity of both external and internal space in traditional Chinese architecture, and describes the character in the aspect of culture and history. Then it tries to find its application in current time. The article discusses the integrity in three levels:first, the homogenous status in external and internal space; second, the inner relationship between external and internal space; third, the integrity of external and internal space. Based on the research in the three levels, the author tries to find a method to promote spatial representation and spiritual quality in Chinese architecture nowadays.The main contents and conclusions of the research are:(1) Finding out the sources in culture that includes philosophic source and art source where the spatial integrity of Chinese traditional architecture exists, which provide supports in theories.(2) Analyzing the characters of the integrity and cause of its formation as well as the main elements that realize its characteristics, which provides practical supports in historical level.(3) Analyzing the methodology of application of integrity, which could effectively guide the architecture design.(4) Discussing the paths which could realize the integrity in numerous perspectives through analysis of several cases of Mr. Cheng Taining.
