Hardware Design Of An Intelligent Lighting System Using DALI Protocol

Using the technology of electronic, communication and computer network, the intelligent lighting system can combine different lighting implements in buildings to get efficient control and management. It has the advantages of high efficiency in energy saving,simple management and multiple lighting controls. Nowadays, with energy saving and emission reduction strongly advocated, the development of intelligent lighting has become the social trend. So this research has significant realistic meanings and application value.The history and statue of intelligent lighting system are analyzed in this paper. The DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) protocol, which is a popular protocol of intelligent lighting network, is discussed. A design scheme of the intelligent lighting system is given, which is made up of multiple fluorescent lamps. The DALI intelligent lighting system is composed of wireless transceiver based on USB of host computer, DALI master control system and DALI slave control system. In DALI master control system, the DALI interface, wireless transceiver interface, infrared pyroelectric detection and light-intensity detection circuits are designed emphatically. In DALI slave control system, the DALI interface, analog dimming interface and switch of fluorescent lamp circuits are given as well. The DALI intelligent lighting system in this paper has the functions of switch control, dimming control, addressable control to the fluorescent lamp. Consequently, it can achieve auto induction, personalized dimming setting and scene setting for lighting area.
