Today, office space has gradually become the center of modern life. And the environment design of an office room directly affects both physical and mental health of the office staff. Environmental psychology is a people-oriented guiding theory for interior design, which is particularly necessary for the physical environment design of the office space. Purpose find out current situation of satisfaction with physical environment what open-office staff feel and psychological status of the environment, and discuss how to construct human physical environment. Ways generalize office psychological status as four major factors:comfort, belonging, security, secret and territory through questionnaire of satisfaction with physical environment and psychological status of the environment. Hand out questionnaires to 340 personnel of 12 Enterprises in Beijing. Input and analysis the data results through SPSS 13.0. Results The overall physical environment satisfaction of the employee is below medium level. The sound, numbers of office staff, green, and the convenience of office setting are all at low level, but the desks & chairs, security facility, office facility maintain high satisfaction. The overall psychological quality of the environment is at low level, and comfort, sense of belonging and privacy in that are all at low level. Safety is at high level. Physical environment satisfaction and psychological environmental quality are relevant with each other. Conclusion Weisman theoretical assumption is proper, we should design human office physical environment in the way of environmental psychology.
