Study On Public Space Design Of Commetrcial Pedestrian Street Based On WangFuJing

With the rapid development of modern urban, commercial pedestrian streets become an important part of the city because of their unique functional characteristics of urban space, playing an increasing role. They provide the space to participate in shopping, recreation, leisure, and social exchange, but also show the image of the city, concentrated urban history and culture sites, therefore, the public spaces of commercial pedestrian streets are becoming a focus of attention.Since the nineties, the country sets off a wave of construction of commercial pedestrian streets, the construction of commercial pedestrian streets have played a big role in shopping convenience and improving the quality of environment. But along with economic development and urban construction, a series of problems of commercial pedestrian streets have found years later. For this reason, this paper chooses the most famous commercial pedestrian street-Wang Fu Jing in Beijing as the research object, through the site investigation, analysis and evaluation of use to conclude its successful experience in the design and its problems in use. Meanwhile, the paper references to some domestic and international success projects, in order to propose solutions to the problems, improve the design capability and better meet the need of people. The paper can be divided into six chapters:the first chapter mainly introduces the object of the study and the related conceptions, and summarize the present research situations. The second chapter is the brief description of the Wang Fu Jing location, history and background. The third chapter is a simple summary of Wang Fu Jing in public space. The fourth chapter is one of the main contents of this paper, from the space element of the commercial pedestrian streets, referent to some success projects and related design theory, this chapter analyzes and evaluates comprehensive in-depth on the Wang Fu Jing pedestrian street design and public space usage. The fifth chapter is also the main content of the paper, which based on the analysis of the fourth chapter. It concludes the problems of the public space of Wang Fu Jing Pedestrian Street, and proposes the modification. The final part of the paper is the conclusion and the further expansion of the Wang Fu Jing pedestrian street, through the research and thinking on the planning and construction of commercial walking street put forward some countermeasures and suggestions.
