With the advance of the technology of electric power industry and the understanding of the strategy of sustained development, DG has some merits, such as cleanliness and environmental protection, the flexible way of power plant, increasing the reliability of current supply and sustaining current supply for the important users in the situation of power line collapsing and emergency casualty. As the extension of DG, it has a great impact on node voltage, power flow, short circuit and reliability of distribution network. The degree of impact is closely planning and grid must consider the influence of DG.The paper makes some analysis and research about the distribution network planning including DG. For a single planning of distribution network including DG, based on considering economy and security of distributed generation, the multi-objective formulation with variable weights, for the optimal sizing and siting of DG which is convenient to apply for the grid planners. And the genetic algorithm has some disadvantage when resolving the planning model such as slow convergence and easy to precocity. In order to overcome the shortcoming of genetic algorithm, a new improved self-adaptive genetic algorithm was proposed in this paper. Results of a system showed that the establishment of multi-objective optimization model using a genetic algorithm for solving can be a more reasonable location and capacity of distributed power program. Results of a system showed that the establishment of multi-objective optimization model using a genetic algorithm for solving can be a more reasonable location and capacity of distributed power program. It can also be known that the connection of DG with distribution network can defer and reduce grid upgrading and reduce power losses by comparing result of distribution network planning with and without DG.DG brings great social and economic benefit.
