In recent years, with the shortage of the routine energy and the increasing serious environmental pollution, people paid more attention on the renewable energy generation to meet the growing demand for electrical power. In this case, wind/pv generation becomes the fastest growing energy generation technology since wind and solar energy are kinds of inexhaustible renewable sources and no pollution. But because of the instability, the energy from wind and solar have an adverse effect on the grid when wind/pv generation connected to the grid. The author introduces the Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) to smooth the output power of wind/pv generation as SMES can exchange the active and reactive power rapidly and efficiently, improve the power quality. The dissertation analyzes sufficiently the mathematical model, operation principle and charge and discharge mode of the Voltage Source Converter (VSC), is designs the controller of voltage and current closed loop control, and analyzes the problems of wind/pv generation system and control strategies of hybrid generation system which combined SMES. It also research preferences method of IGBT inductance and capacitance, designs control circuit and driven circuit based on TMS320LF2407A DSP, and programmed software algorithms on the experiment platform of hybrid generation system. This article presented a simulation and validation of the operation principle and control strategy of SMES and hybrid generation system. The possibility of using SMES to efficiently smooth the output power is verified according to the simulation and experiment result, provide a theoretical basis for practical application.
