With the exacerbation of power grid disturbance caused by the large number of non-linear load and stroken load, and the improvement of requirements which power users request to the power quality, power quality problems become more and more widely appreciated. On the one hand, electricity as a commodity needs assure its quality; on the other hand, power users have to limit the interference of the power grid within a certain range. Power users as victims of power quality problems also maybe the manufacturer of power quality problems. Therefore, broad access to real-time monitoring power quality data of electricity users is essential to assess the level of power quality, confirm the source of interference and improve the power quality further.In this paper, power quality monitoring system based digital signal processor (DSP) is designed.Powerful computing function of DSP can monitor power quality online, measure and store the real-time data and analyze the data after being transmitted to PC through serial communication, all of this provide an accurate the quality of power. Firstly the paper introduces the development process of power quality monitoring system, outlining the background of power quality problems and discussing the phenomenon of power quality problems fully. Various analytical methods of the power quality monitoring are studied according to the related standard. The overall hardware schematic and circuit diagrams of new power quality monitoring device based DSP is designed, and the main software flow chart and each subroutine is also provided. Finally, the reason of disturbing power quality monitoring device is analyzed and appropriate measures are proposed, and the trend of the future of power quality monitoring system is described.This device uses TMS320F2812 made by TI as the system CPU, and the parameters of power quality are measured according to de requirement of systerm and the related national standards. The following key technologies is studied in the paper:1. In theory, after analyzing the national standards of power qulity,the necessary parameters is obtained . Under the premise of ensuring accuracy, the data is analysed using the high computation ability of DSP and related algorithm;2. In hardware, systerm chooses TMS320F2812 as the CPU, a high-precision 16-bit ADS8364 as A / D the converter, input signal preprocessing circuit of A/D is designed; the peripheral memory on DSP is used as the data storage. Serial communication interface RS-232 is also developed on DSP which can transmite data to the PC.Finally the whole system circuit is finished, which realized all design of systerm with the software .After the examination function of the systerm such as the measurement of precision and speed is superior to similar products in the market.
