Permanent magnet AC servo motor has good performances of simple structure, small size, light weight, small inertia, high efficiency, high power factor and strong overload capability. Compared with the DC servo motor without commutator or brush, works steady, excellent heat elimination. Compared with the induction motor, the control is simple, without excitation loss and so on. Permanent magnet AC servo system has accepted extensive concern, digital and intelligent permanent magnet AC servo system becomes the development trend and research focus of servo system. Research and development of permanent magnet AC servo system not only takes advantage of the rich rare earth resources, Also on the improvement of servo control level, saving energy is important. The main content of this paper is to research and design all-digital AC servo system.The characteristics of the vector control and direct torque control are analyzed and compared. According to the requirements of servo control system, Space vector control strategy is used by PM Servo System. Then, four methods of space vector control are discussed and finally the field-oriented control method id=0 is determined.To test the design, the mathematical models of permanent magnet AC servo motor in three-phase and two-phase rotating coordinate system are founded. In addition, the Matlab simulation models of permanent magnet AC servo motor and space vector control system are created. The rotor voltage space vector control, generation of SVPWM, current loop and speed loop control method of regulation are simulated.The hardware of permanent magnet AC servo system is designed, including system power main circuit, system control circuit and auxiliary circuit. Digital Signal Processor (DSP) made by TI is our digital excitation control chip. Power chip uses Intelligent Power Modules (IPM) of Mitsubishi. The system software is designed by C language and assembly language, and the process of parts of software is showed in detail. With the purpose of getting the performance of the design, some tests are carried out. The experimental results show that the actual results are concordant with the simulation. In fact, the results prove that the design proposal is rational and feasible.
