The energy-saving renovation of heating systems for existing residential buildings involves the interests of all aspects. Because the reconstruction scales are large and the system characteristics are difficult, the difficulty of its implementation exists in practical application to a certain degree. Only by synthetically evaluating the results of energy-saving renovation of heating systems, the energy-saving renovation can be put into practice successfully.Taken the various systems of heat supply and energy-saving of residential buildings in Lanzhou city as the research object, the problems such as the energy-saving target identification, renovation obstacles, and the rationality of renovation program of existing residential buildings are studied. Based on the advantages and disadvantages of all types of heat supply system of residential buildings in Lanzhou city, the corresponding renovation program of heat supply and energy-saving is proposed. The characteristics, applied range and deficiency of all kinds of renovation program, and the renovation effect are qualitatively analyzed. The renovation programs of the heat supply system of existing residential buildings for different ages and structures are determined. The concrete requirements for the renovation design of the heating systems and heat supply network system are proposed. The heating systems and energy-saving reconstruction engineerings in cultural district and live cell in Yuzhong county are taken as an example. According to the measured data and public opinion polls, it shows that energy-saving reconstruction of the heating systems can reduce energy consumption of heat supply, improve the comfort of household, and obtain a better energy conservation effect. Through the analysis of the effect of energy-saving reconstruction, it is concluded that the vertical single-pipe cross-over heating system or the horizontal single-pipe heating system in the reconstruction programs can replace the heating systems of existing residential buildings; It is necessary to carry out calculation of its thermal dynamic and hydraulic status for the energy-saving reconstruction of the heating systems of existing residential buildings, otherwise which leads to the reduction of flow-in coefficient and the lack of heat quantity given off from the radiators. Hence, the value of indoor temperature cannot reach that of design requirement. Meanwhile the system of heat source and pipe network are significant to energy-saving renovation of heating system for existing residential buildings.
