With the increasing improvement of people's living standards, the design for children's room attracts much attention, but we also find that well-decorated children's rooms still cannot satisfy parents and children. What causes these problems is designers'lack of attention and research for users. A good design should be on the basis of the full satisfaction of users'needs. The design of a children's room which goes along with his growing up should rely on user's needs, introduce "family persona" to study user's attitudes, behavioral and consuming patterns and understand user's psychological needs and experience objectives so that the direction of designs can be established. This kind of designs may not be gorgeous or colorful, but it must be favored by the users and be very marketable. This topic applies the method of ethnography to collect users'real data in order to study the user's needs for children's space in a family, and adopts persona to present six different types of classical prototype of the users among this user group, thereby producing guiding rules for design. This topic analyzes the customers'needs from both behavioral and subjective aspects. The behavioral analysis focused on investigation of objective facts, which mainly uses interview methods, supplemented by collecting the behaviors of children and their watch-over. We classify user's behaviors according to the nature of different motivations, sort and analyze data with more than one methods and finally conclude with 45 user needs of children's room. After completing analysis of users'needs, we make use of persona to explore the characteristics of user groups, that is family persona, and furnish the persona by describing the use scenarios, sharpening and completing the images of family persona. Basing on this, we discuss the primary and secondary needs of different family personas. Research should go back to the design, so at last according to the conclusion of users needs and family persona ahead, we come up with different design prototypes based on different consuming types.
