As a product of refrigeration appliances in the trend of segmentation, the saloon bar is the target to high-quality and healthy product and in line with the consumption trends of consumers. However, this kind of product is just researched in practice, the academic field is mainly about the research of product technology and merely researched in a systematic study in industrial design. Persona, as an important method and tool for user-centered design, is seldom employed in the field of product design. Therefore, this paper puts forward the application of persona method in the practice of saloon bar design. The main content of the research is doing research on Hisense saloon bar design based on the saloon bar personas creation and application, which can provide practical guidance for the following persona method’s application in product design.The first part of this thesis introduces the Hisense Saloon bar design process based on persona method. Based on the theory of existing product design process and persona method and through the analysis of the problem in existing product design process, this article applies the method into the design of Hisense saloon bar and gives out the process of saloon bar design process.The second part is creation and description of Hisense saloon bar personas. Using quantitative methods to create personas of saloon bar product, this part includes segmentation and scene writing of personas in the instance of saloon bar middle-end product.The third part is analysis of saloon bar design element and research of user needs. First this part analyzes the function, shape, CMF and human-machine interaction in detail, then presents the design orientation of saloon bar middle-end model based in the user needs of personas.The fourth part bases on the design project of Hisense saloon bar middle-end model, using the product design process based on the persona method, did product design practice and elaborated the application and realization of persona method in product design.In this paper, Hisense saloon bar design is as an example. It elaborates the creation process of the saloon bar personas and applies the personas in the user requirements phase of research and creative design phase to guide product design practice. And it finalized the product overall design, giving a reference to the following saloon bar product design.
