Power harmonics caused by nonlinear load increased distribution transformer's additional loss which causing a huge waste of energy. Traditional off-line test can not present the real status of transformer's additional loss in operating station,so it can not guarantee transformer working with high efficiency. Energy waste is still possible now and then. Therefore, research distribution transformer's monitoring method of harmonic additional loss is very significant to energy conservation and economic operation of transformer. This paper research and analysis monitoring method of distribution transformer harmonic loss according to the circuit model, theory of skin effect, circuit superposition theorem and electrical measurement technology, the research work are as follows:â‘ A new algorithm of harmonic losses in distribution transformers was proposed, including its principle and formula, which provides a theoretical basis for constructing monitoring system. Because of avoiding signal acquisition in distribution transformer primary side, the algorithm reduces the complexity of the monitoring system hardware.â‘¡Developed distribution transformer data collection terminal, which realizing transformer harmonic current signal conditioning, digital collection, FFT spectrum analysis, remote data transmission and can provide data for analysis capacity, non-load loss and short-circuit loss of distribution transformer.â‘¢Developed analysis software of distribution transformer harmonic losses, which realizing harmonic current display, harmonic power calculation, GSM module control and data output. It can monitoring harmonic loss of different type distribution transformer by setting the transformer parameters and provided technical means for researching monitoring method of distribution transformer harmonic loss.â‘£Integrated debugged the system and introduced the experimental method, we justify the online detective method of transformer harmonic loss by doing the transformer experiments. The experiments show that: this high accuracy measurements system which we developped can be applied to online monitoring harmonic losses in transformer and provide theoretical and technical basis for application of transformer harmonic loss detective method.
