In recent years, because of rapid growth of power and electronic device, harmonic pollution in electricity grid system becomes more and more serious. It can produce harmful affect to all kinds of power device, communication equipment and wiring, even generate accident of power system so that directly effect safety production and normal running of lives . As a consequence to monitor and study power network is not only a premise to confine and eliminate harmonic but also a urgently demand to assure power supply system to run safely and economically and devices and personal safety.In order to monitor power network ,this paper presents a new design of a harmonic test apparatus for power system based on DSP and RABBIT 3000.The apparatus on the spot performs mathematics and numerical processing including FFT and so on to voltage and current sign and transfers data to PC.Data can be stored,show, query, summary and printing and so on.The complete test monitor system of harmonic is made up of monitor apparatus,PC and network. Monitor apparatus can measure valid value of three phase voltage and current, power factor, three phase disequilibrium, instant flecker of short time and harmonic without twenty ,degree and harmonic distortion total.The paper are laid on the following.(1) Master plan and function of circuit, (2) Hardware design including circuit and principle of A/D conversion, phase lock, liquid crystal display and keystroke and so on, (3) Design of system software including digital filtering,FFT, A/D conversion and monitor interface of PC, (4) system test.
