As the rapid development of China's automotive and transport industry, the vehicle's amount increasing continuously, the number of road traffic accidents is also increasing correspondingly. The traffic accident is not only a disaster for our production and life and how to deal with these road traffic accidents equitably,exactly and scientifically has become an important factor for social stability.In recent years, there's been a significant development in virtual reality technology and computer hardware and software technology. With great effort, the investigators working in the area of traffic safety science has been able to reappear process of traffic accident to confirm the motion state of each party during the accident process so that these information could be used to ascertain the responsibility for accident. This method has been receiving wider and wider acceptance. A 3D simulation displaying platform was built to represent the 3D traffic accident process mentioned above rapidly and accurately in this paper.In this article, contraposing the above problem, solved four parts of work:1)Using Road Traffic Accidents Analyzing and Reconstruction System and The Locale Map of Traffic Accidents Protracting System which are independent researched by chang'an university to analyze of cases of traffic accidents, then according to the data of reconnaissance,the locale map of traffic accidents and analyzed result of traffic accidents which is gotten by this system as the theory foundation of the 3D simulation of displaying platform for road traffic accidents,and summarized characteristics of different types of traffic accidents to afford foundation for the establishment of 3D simulation model library.2)Using 3DS MAX to create 3D models which are used in 3D simulation of traffic accidents, redrawing these models in the VC++ by OpenGL, controlling the movement of the model by OpenGL library functions, to realize human-machine interactive function.3)Establishing the database of traffic accident cases by MFC ODBC, which make the 3D simulation displaying platform more complete;4)Establishing traffic accident displaying platform. The displaying platform is composed by three parts:the database of traffic accidents parameter,3D simulation of the traffic accidents and recording. Using these three parts reconstructed a few cases of common traffic accidents.
