Research On Bus Rapid Transit Planning

With the development of mechanization, urban traffic problem is restricting our progress very badly. The way to resolve traffic problem is to encourage public traffic .Bus Rapid Transit(BRT) is the improvement compared with the traditional bus transit planning, design, operation and management. BRT achieves higher efficiency with less investment and greater flexibility. BRT is still in the embryonic stage of development and research in China. In view of the characteristics of urban areas, road characteristics and the characteristics of different stages of development in the same city, the study on the planning of BRT in China has great realistic significance.This article focuses on the planning research of Bus Rapid Transit in the urban area of our country. And it also studies the applicability form of BRT factors, the adaptability evaluation index system and methods.(1)This article studies the factors of BRT. It also analyzes the problems and the necessity of BRT programming in China. This article contrastively studies development and operational experience of the typical BRT from oversea countries and inland countries. This article also analyzes the problems of BRT programming in China that has great realistic significance.(3)This article studies arrangement, object and flow in allusion to China. This article also analyzes the connection between BRT and city planning.(4) This article studies the planning methods of BRT network and corridor in allusion to China. This article also analyzes the design of BRT lanes, BRT platforms and BRT buses. This article establishes the adaptability evaluation index system of BRT planning methods in China. Based on the contrastive research of evaluation methods, this article chooses AHP/effective compositor DEA method.
