In traditional vehicle dynamics Research, evaluation of vehicle handling stability and ride comfort of the need for repeated trial and test prototype, which not only cost consumption, moreover, some experiments even cannot put into effect only because their security and Test conditions. The emergence of virtual prototyping technology will make handling stability and ride comfort become convenient and easy. Virtual prototyping technology is a new technology about design and manufacture, involving Multi-body dynamics, Calculation and software engineering, which uses software to build three-dimensional model of the mechanical system and the mechanical model, analyze and evaluate system performance, so which can provide parameters for physical prototype testing and manufacturing.In this paper, based on an A-class car as the prototype, by using the multi-body dynamic analysis software ADAMS, firstly the author establish the suspension model, then Conducting The study of movement characteristics of steering system under the suspension of beating, based on which the author made a suspension of related geometric analysis parameter changes curve, then the author uses Insight that is the professional of ADAMS on the pre-optimization module Suspension optimization analysis, obtained optimization results, and correct suspension. based on A personal database, the author uses ADAMS/ CAR modules establishes Rear Suspension, steering system, brake system, body, tires and other models, then assembled into vehicle model, and according to the relevant standards of GB, the author do six kinds of simulations:Steering wheel angle step input, steering wheel angle pulse input, return ability test, steady static circular test procedure, steering efforts test procedure, pylon course slalom test obtaining the results and according to QC/T480-1999 on a test carried out to score analysis, obtained handling and stability test score, indicating a good vehicle handling and stability. In the final ride comfort simulation analysis, using Ride which is one of ADAMS professional analysis module, making the simulation Ride of randomly profiled road inputting base on Four-Post Test Rig roughness analysis, the car is proved to be high performance in the handling and stability.The results showed that the use of Multi-body dynamics analysis software ADAMS which can carry out the virtual vehicle simulation and dynamic analysis. With the development of automobile industry and virtual technology, the virtual prototyping technology will play a greater role in the automobile industry in the future.
