As an important reactive power compensation device, parallel capacitor plays a very important role in the stability of power system and the normal power supply. According to statistics, many kinds of different faults occur, when capacitors are running, which bring serious consequences to the stable operation of power system, and the strategy adopted for this is "time base maintenance", which results in too many unnecessary downtime and maintenance, delaying reactive compensation, or even premature damage caused by an excessive demolition and assembly, but also can not find a mini-run capacitors. Therefore, the development of an integrated intelligent online monitoring device of on-line monitoring, diagnosis, and early warning function offers a powerful tool for the effective operation of capacitors.Aim at the characteristics and the phenomenon of the frequent failure for 10kV frame parallel capacitor in Zhongshan Power Supply, this paper designs a monitoring systematic of fault monitoring, diagnosis, early warning based on the embedded processor TMS320LF2407 ,1-wire single-bus technology and Ethernet technology. In the paper, the method based on capacitance value and capacitor temperature-line monitoring method is used in the capacitor fault detection; temperature measurement based on 1-wire bus technology DS18B20 single digital temperature sensor; in harmonic analysis, the fast Fourier Transform is used in harmonic analysis by DSP platform; in remote communication, Ethernet communication is used to upload capacitor parameters of capacitors for the remote server ,in order to provide data analysis for the causes of capacitors damage.The modular design methods is given in this paper, the signal acquisition module, A/D converter module, temperature acquisition module are given; the lowest level of software design includes a data acquisition module, data processing module, data transfer module, and describes the function of each module and the implementation method; host computer management software is in real time monitoring and analysis the capacitance value, temperature, current and voltage harmonics and other parameters, and put the monitoring data entered in to the database, while providing a powerful capacitor parameter query functions. Finally, experimental test data and field installation images are given, test data show that the development of monitoring devices can meet the precision requirements and achieve very good fault monitoring of power capacitors to monitor parameters.Practice shows that this system has very high measurement speed and measurement accuracy, it is easy to operate, functional, scalable, and can be used to detect other parameters too, has a very wide application prospect and practical value.
