Process design is very important in mechanical production. And the manufacture quality and period are directly influenced by process design quality and speed. Oil film bearing, also named liquid friction bearing, is the key parts of mill, and influenced the rolling level. The traditional oil film bearing has some problems, such as complex manual operating, long design period, splitting information and difficult maintenance for files, all of these problems cannot fit the company's development. So it is very meaningful to develop CAPP special system for oil film bearing.This system is one kind of CAPP special system for oil film bearing's components. This article adopts characteristics modeling, and based on characteristics, to divide the components by characteristics information, so a whole components information model is come out. Then the manpower intelligent method is used to transformed process engineers'knowledge as system internal information and store in the knowledge base. This step establishes process knowledge base. The third step is based on forward reasoning and rule match, and used process prior series and ruled mixing decision, to realize automatic sequence for components manufacturing, manufacture sequence, automatic select of manufacture allowance, tools select, and output for process card. The last step is finishing CAPP special system, with the system application interfaces and examples presented. This system is not only has good HMI for information input and output, and also good for process files come out. It can well combine with other links in CAPP, improve automatic design, short design period, and increase economic benefit.
