The Study Of Xishu Garden Based On Spiritual Construction Sequence Analysis

Chinese Classical Garden, with a long history, profound culture and superb garden techniques, is the fruit of extensive and profound Chinese civilization which has gone through thousands of years'development and improvement. It is a composition of many interrelated parts, Although the Chinese classical gardens include many category and Construction Elements, its construction belongs to two sequences, that is, spiritual and material construction. Nowadays, people research on Chinese classical gardens mostly from confined visual substances such as garden buildings, rocks, water, plants and other material construction elements, but only considered the garden's spiritual construction elements as a background or an addition. Clearly this pattern of study cannot fully reflect the Chinese classical gardens'cultural characteristics, artistic value and overall appearance. XiShu Garden, boutique of Regional garden, has an abundant of spiritual construction. Xishu Garden hardly has much achievement as an important branch of Chinese classical gardens which is one of gardens which need further research.Based on this background, this study, starting from the aspect of gardens'spiritual construction and selecting XiShu garden as researching sample, one of the typical regional garden, explains the profound of its spiritual construction in simple terms and analyzes the interrelationship between spiritual construction sequence and Artistic conception of garden, in the hope of bring the modern landscape architecture some inspiration and reference. The main results of this study are bellowing:(1) Chinese Classical Garden is comprehensive integration of Chinese traditional culture, influenced by society, economy, philosophy, culture, and art in many sides. These inner impacts, reflected in the gardens by the way of material construction elements or integrating together to be the garden culture, are important contents of key element of spiritual construction This paper systematically sums up the connotations of the spiritual construction of Chinese classical garden, and point out that spiritual construction is the most important aesthetics qualitative of Chinese classical garden.(2) The spiritual construction sequences of XiShu garden, deriving from the same origin like Chinese classical gardens, can be divided into two main sequences, that is, the Historical society Humanistic construction sequence and the integrated arts construction sequences. But the two sequences contained different specific elements because they are profoundly impacted by the regional culture. The Historical society Humanistic construction sequence mainly includes following constructional elements:the XiShu traditional view of nature,the idea of Taoism-oriented, and the philosophy of merge of Taoism and Confucianism in Social awareness; high praise of feudal official and imperial power in political awareness; ideas of literature upholding, integration of traditional culture, custom of enjoying sights and poetic thinking feature in culture awareness; commemorative in history spirits, historical awareness, vigor of style in Tang and Song Dynasty and folk aethestic standard and so on. Integrated Arts Construction sequence mainly includes constructional elements as follows:Classical literature, inscribed boards and couplets, calligraphy art and painting art and so on.(3) Combinating the theory of "word-image-idea" in the field of philosophy, this paper proposed the structure of artistic conception generation based on garden spiritual construction and point out that there is similar "word-image-idea" relationship between the spiritual construction sequence and the artistic conception generation.(4) Summing up enlightenments, brought to modern landscape architecture by the beauty of Spiritual Construction of Xishu Garden. These enlightenments mainly include epochal Character and successive character, sincere emotion of garden, place spirit and character of historical continuity, the poetic thinking of landscape design and applications of integrated art, and so on.
