The original landscape pattern of study will be affected, during the building of hydroelectric power station or after the hydropower project have been successfully built and run for some time. For the case of An'gu hydropower, to study the study area will be beneficial to know the change of landscape pattern in the study area. It has important scientific significance.Based on related research information and achievements collected and summarized at home or abroad, this paper chose the Shawan district which is in Leshan city as the research area, took landscape ecology as theoretical instruction and method, collaborating with the figures and pictures of An'gu hydropower which are before the hydropower project have been built and after the hydropower project have been built in the investigation area, according to the investigation in open country, with the geographic information system (GIS) technologies, the ration and qualitative comprehensive appraisal on the landscape pattern change were deeply analyzed. Studying the landscape pattern of Shawan district will help to reflect the disturbance which human activity to the environment.This paper supported by GIS software ArcView3.2, the landscape elements pattern charts in the area was protracted. With the technology of Global Positioning System (GPS), Geographic Information System (GIS), and according to the principle of landscape classification, the whole study area was divided into six types. On these bases, digitalized An'gu hydropower's land-use types map to set up the database, and chose some landscape indexes to analyze the landscape patterns of study area before the hydropower project have been built. Finally, the characteristics of landscape pattern are analyzed with excel software. The research results are as following:1. The percentage of various landscape types'obvious non-uniformity, the denizen or industrial districts have comparative advantage, ranked first, which is about 31.01% of the whole area, followed by the cultivated land, woodland got to the third place. By contrast, the areas of unused land,garden and water land were small.2. The results showed that patch density and patch mean area regularly responded to the change of landscape fragmentation. The landscape fragmentation value is the largest while the patch density is the largest, but the patch mean area is the lowest;According to the analysis of landscape pattern, the fragmentation degree of cultivated land is the largest, which is 11.17, unused land is larger, which is 9.29, the other is lower.3. Diversity Index is low, landscape heterogeneity is unobvious. It discovered the denizen or industrial district is main type.4. The maximum value of dominance index is water area landscape which reaches 0.847.The phenomenon which one of the patch type occupied a dominant position has been found in this landscape.5. I predicted the changes of landscape pattern using Markov chain model. The prediction result shows that: all types of landscapes in the study areas change complicatedly from 5a, and different types have different trends. Among the changes, the change of plow land and water land were the most obvious, especially the change of water land.
