| The three fundamental functions of universities are to create knowledge, disseminate knowledge, and apply knowledge. With the development of the knowledge economy, universities have become more and more influential in the city, and campus construction has also emerged with the characteristics of openness,mega-scale,suburbanization,and informationization. The campus space has changed from closed to open,"campus without walls" has become the norm for multi-campus construction, and university campuses are getting closer and closer to the surrounding areas in terms of industry and scientific research.Traditional university campus planning falls into a fixed thinking paradigm that overemphasizes axis symmetry and perfect composition, while ignoring the creation of environmental characteristics and ecological functions.Making it difficult for universities to adapt to social development.Nowadays, university campuses occupy an increasingly important position. The development of cities has put forward higher and higher ecological requirements for university campuses.University campuses are becoming an important factor in protecting the regional ecology.Traditional theories and methods of university campus planning and construction can no longer fully meet the needs of current university campus planning and construction, therefore,it is necessary to make further research on the theories and methods of university campus landscape planning based on the new characteristics of university construction combined with some interdisciplinary knowledge. This research explores and analyzes the relevant research on the ecological planning of university campuses, combines the actual situation of university campus construction at home and abroad,on the basis of understanding the current situation of the campus, using the related theories of landscape ecology to analyze the problems and causes of the campus landscape pattern through quantitative and qualitative methods. Finally, aiming at the problems and reasons of campus landscape pattern, this paper puts forward the optimization strategy of the optimal pattern method based on the pattern of "patch-corridor-matrix" for the first time, which maximizes the use of natural resources inside and outside the campus, and provides a certain reference for the ecological planning and design of the future university campus. This research is divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction, which mainly introduces the research background and significance, research scope and objectives, research content and methods, research status, research framework and innovation points.Research status is the premise of the thesis. It summarizes the research status of campus Landscape planning history and landscape ecology at home and abroad, combs the progress of the research on university campus landscape ecology, and lays the theoretical foundation for the optimization of the landscape pattern of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The second part conducts a field investigation on the campus upper planning, the historical changes of the campus, and the basic ecological information of the campus. It is clear that the optimization of the layout is fully in line with the requirements of the upper planning and also caters to the era of ecological sustainable development. At the same time,it has a general understanding of the campus information on the natural environment, campus vegetation, and campus biology, providing a basic judgment on campus ecology. Finally, the existing problems of campus ecological status are discussed and summarized, which mainly include three problems: the overall biodiversity of campus is not high, the species richness and diversity in campus are unbalanced in regional and interspecific development, and the phenomenon of biological homogenization exists. The third part is the quantitative research of the thesis.Firstly, the campus landscape is classified and visually interpreted, and then the landscape patch level index, patch type level index and landscape level index are selected for analysis. Finally, the data obtained are described from the aspects of landscape heterogeneity and landscape element characteristics. The fourth part is the qualitative research of the thesis. From the "patch-corridor-matrix" of campus landscape pattern, the qualitative analysis based on ecological theory is carried out,and the main reasons for the problems in campus landscape pattern are obtained : The external "source" is not effectively utilized; The problems in campus matrix are that the area of biological habitat in campus is reduced, the matrix controls the landscape dynamics of campus and the matrix space is not fully utilized; The problems in the layout of campus patches are that the patches are artificial and fragmented, and the layout is unreasonable, and the diversity of landscape types is insufficient; The problems in the layout of campus corridors are that the integrity and continuity of corridors need to be strengthened, and the layout of artificial corridors and natural corridors does not consider ecological factors, resulting in strong human interference factors in campus. The fifth part is the strategy of optimizing campus landscape pattern. In this chapter, aiming at the problems existing in the campus pattern, combining the qualitative and quantitative analysis conclusions of the campus pattern, the optimization objectives and principles for the campus pattern are put forward.Based on these objectives and principles, the optimal pattern method which is most suitable for the campus is selected to optimize the present situation of campus landscape configuration reasonably, then the advantages and disadvantages of this method and the specific strategies about how to apply it to the campus landscape pattern are analyzed,so as to create a good campus ecology. In the fifth part,The sixth part summarizes the main content and results of the paper,as well as introduces the application prospects and shortcomings of the paper,to prepare for the subsequent related research. |
