Simulation technology has been applied to ship for many years, and marine power plant system simulation is a hot point of it. By the simulation of a particular model of ship power plant system, we can get the related data of this power plant system, we can achieve power system operation control without the real ship's propulsion test and bench test. The change of marine power plant system in operating conditions will directly affect the state of the ship's navigation. We can see that the ship's navigation and power system operation monitoring is an indivisible whole. Predecessors have done a lot of work in the ship power plant system simulation, including the exploration of modeling, simulation strategy research, and so on. This article aims to do further optimization and development on the basis of predecessors, using the database technology to further improve the efficiency of the ship propulsion system simulation, after the mathematical simulation of the ship propulsion system we use the results of the simulation to do the distributed visual navigation of ships visual simulation, make the simulation results become more intuitive.This article sets up a platform based on hybrid programming to manage the parameter data and result data of marine power plant system simulation, according to the analysis of the interfaces among VC++6.0, Matlab and SQL Server 2000. The platform write the related parameters data of different power plant systems into different data tables in advance, when the simulation is necessary, we only need to read parameters from the right table and sent them to the simulink model of the ship power plant system. And it can improve the interoperability of simulation models. In the process of ship power plant system mathematical modeling, at first we establish a mathematical model library of the various components, and then select the actual needed components models to make up the required power plant system model. By this way, we make the time of establish model shorter and improve the simulation's efficiency.In the end of the power plant simulation, we insert the simulation results into SQL Server 2000. Using the feature that SQL Server 2000 is a large distributed network database. The clients connect to the server to make the simulation data be shared with the other computers. The after developers could achieve the distributed visual simulation of apparatus through the development of the database. Here, the database plays a bridge role in data transfer. Distributed visual simulation is made of two parts content, including visual simulation and network communications. Therefore we need to write network communication program to achieve that different computers generate images synchronously. In this paper, there is detailed description and analysis about visual simulation software and network communications technology in Windows. Using VC + +6.0 for the development of network communication program, using VC + +6.0 and Vega Hybrid Programming for the development of visual simulation program, and achieve the multi-channel distributed visual simulation of navigation ultimately.
