A Study On Urban Design Stratagem For The Ancient City Of Jixian

As the historical and cultural city of Tianjin, Jixian has a long history and many cultural heritage. The ancient city of Jixian is located in the center region of the city, there are relative complete of historical and cultural scene and abundant cultural relic. However, the ancient city of Jixian hadn't realized the importance of conservation during the regeneration and reconstruction during a long time, due to the rapid urbanization in recent years, the contradiction between protection and development become more and more serious, historical and cultural characteristics of the ancient city are facing the risk of disappear. As one of the most important means of organic regeneration, Urban design is committed to improve the quality of city life, as well as to strengthen the genius loci and concern the continuation of historical context.In this paper, the discussion focused on how to use the means of urban design to achieve sustainable development in the ancient city of Jixian. First of all, the paper introduced the research background, that is, the conservation of historical and cultural city in China's development in the most recent decades and the evolution of urban design ideas in recently, more than 100 years. Then through in-depth and meticulous research, grasping the most important time, figures and historical events which have far-reaching influence on shaping the traditional outlook of the ancient city in the history of Jixian, and from the perspective of urban design, discussing the the historical heritage's value and significance in promoting the city's characteristics. In this way, providing important clues to the history and inspiration for our urban design work.Then through field research in the ancient city and questionnaire survey and interviews of residents, analysis and sum-up of the problem which happened in the conservation and regeneration of the ancient city, and from the perspective of urban design to improve the corresponding recommendations and suggestions. Based on those comprehensive research, taking effective urban design stratagem such as comprehensive and rational, people-oriented, step-by-step design stratagem to promote the conservation and organic regeneration of the ancient city, and through the deepening design, urban design will further implement the results.This article is based on the practices of urban design to promote the historical and cultural city's conservation and regeneration, in the practice process of the ancient city of Jixian, to establish a set of research system which look survey as foundation, history as clues, evaluation as reference, stratagem as guide, design as methods. Hoping to offer more valuable suggestions and inspiring work on China's conservation of historical and cultural city.
