The tendency of mass customization is a new challenge to the product assembly process planning. At the same time, DFMC provides the flowing process planning with many advantages. Currently, CAPP is popular, but system which can aid assembly process planning is seldom. The reason is that no one effective algorithm can cover so many constraints the assembly process had. So, currently, the efficiency and quality of assembly process is mainly determined by the experience of designer.Firstly, this paper describes general principle of assembly process of products, including the summarization and induction of assembly model of different products types. Analyze the opportunities and challenges that the mass customization provides to the planning of assembly process through detailing the design method and dates characteristics of DFMC. Then the theory of assembly process planning for mass customization is proposed and specific planning method considering rapid design techniques is offered. Assembly process planning for MC fully consider the structure relationship andprocess similarity among productions in the same product family, take the variant structure information of rapid design as the task source of process planning, take the assembly process of based products as mainly refer example, adjust and correct the process of based products on the basis analysis of variant information by technical of CBR. At the same time, on the design of product line, guided by modular and platform strategy. On the selection of equipment, fully consider flexibility and efficiency. All of this make it possible to design and manufacture mass customization products rapidly.On this basis, this paper models the theory of assembly process above-mentioned, expatiates on the working principle of software system and theory on the realization of function. The overall design of the software system and system modeling are done. The design of system function structure and program logic flow and database is realized. Then the software system, based on examples, called Computer Aided Assembly Process Planning (CAAPP) is developed. The last part is preliminary application of the system in the Assembly Process of heavy-duty transmission in a transmission company.
