Modification coefficient of helical beveloid gear is different along the axialdirection. Helical beveloid gear with parallel axis is able to adjust the backlash of the two gears conveniently through axial movement because of its continuous change of tooth, thus can realize the little backlash transmission and reduce the vibration and noise greatly, therefore it's applicable for transmission mechanism demanding backlash and vibration strictly and special driving devices with high-technology. It has a high practical value and bright future. Currently, the investigation of home and abroad of helical beveloid gear are focused on the aspect of geometric parameters'calculation, manufacture and measuring etc. In order to improve its meshing precision, the bearing capacity and service life, carrying on investigation of generation of tooth surface and meshing characteristics analysis of this gear has high theoretical and practical significances.The main research contents in this paper are shown in the following:According to the basic theory of Mechanics Principles and Meshing Engagement Principles, the transverse pressure angle, helix angle and the modification coefficient were calculated, then according to the forming process of gear meshing region, contact ratio of this gear pair was investigated and the main parameters'effect on it was analyzed.According to the space Meshing Engagement Principles, the tooth face equations of the working tooth surface, the fillet surface and the tooth root surface of helical beveloid gear were derived by means of the tooth face equations of the rack cutter. Complete and precise tooth surface of helical beveloid gear were generated by using Matlab and the main parameters of rack cutter'effect on the generation of tooth surface were investigated.Using the tooth face equations helical beveloid, based on the method of tooth contact analysis, the mathematical models of meshing of this gear pair were established and the meshing condition of this gear with parallel axis under standard installation, center distance Installation error and axis installment error were investigated respectively and the transmission error of different installment condition were compared.Using the software of Abaqus, the finite element model of this gear transmission was established, it analyzed the stress distribution, maximum tooth contact stress, tooth root bending stress and load distribution among different teeth under standard installation, then it investigated the tooth contact condition of this gear transmission under different vertical axis installment errors.
