Resource is material base for human development and society progress.Highway construction is resource-consuming project. The construction of mountain highway not only need a large amount of steel, cement and others, but also take up land, vegetation and other natural resources. In order to respond the spirit of "resource-saving highway", resource-saving technologies should be widely applied in the mountain highway construction. So research on resource-saving technologies applied in mountain highway construction has great significance both in theory and reality. This paper first analyzed characteristics of resource-saving in mountain highway construction. We pick up high ratio of bridge and tunnel, Topsoil backfill and high liquid limit soil as the typical resource-saving technologies in mountain highway construction. Then we explored those technologies'disposing craftwork, manner of resource-saving and methods measurement. Those technologies' adaptability and versatility were tested in order to spread them in this industry.Measurement on YUNWU highway showed:a) High ratio of bridge and tunnel economized precious land, although it increased project costs;b) Topsoil backfill decreased project costs, and land was not occupied; c) high liquid limit soil avoided environment destroy by increasing endurable project costs. Our research displayed that technologies mentioned-above can save land, which should be popularized in mountain highway construction. Meanwhile those technologies have good economic benefit, environment benefit and society benefit.
