The weather is extremely hot in Changsha where is known as "one of furnaces".Building sun-shading, as the main method for people to resist solar radiation, is not only the demand for the development of architectural function, but also the major initiative of saving energy. What's more, it is a new design idea of 'architecture, and even one of the significant vehicles to convey the regionalism and interculture of buildings.It suits with the thinking of developing a resource-efficient and environmentally friendly society which is presented by the state.This thesis aims at probing the design and technique of building sun-shading which suit for Changsha area, and hope to help the promotion of the energy-saving buildings in Changsha. It is discussed through the following aspects:Firstly, start with the specific geography and climatic conditions, to analyze the status quo of Changsha indoor environment, and according to the statistical data obtained from field research, extract the current situation and problems of building sun-shading in Changsha area.For example,ignoring sun-shading,single material and structure,lack for combination of art and technology, sun-shading facility unsuitable for the situation.Secondly, on the basis of field research, introduce the general situation of utilization of building sun-shading in developed countries; conclude their effects and influence to architectural functions and styles; elaborate the development trend of sun-shading in foreign countries; summarize their status of development in developed countries and the enlightenment to Changsha area.Then, utilize the simulation software of PBECA energy consumption, in connection with corresponding problems to set up an ideal model of building sun-shading to carry out a comparative analysis of energy consumption, which include analyses of energy consumption of different sun-shading styles, materials, types of construction, before and after the ideal model, different scales of horizontal, vertical and integrated sun-shading, and the distance of horizontal sun-shading board to the top edge of windows, through which to get the ideal sun-shading model appropriate to Changsha area.At last, the thesis proposed strategies of perfecting building sun-shading in Changsha, which are betterment of current technology and introduction of advanced and mature technology from foreign countries. The concluding paragraph summed up the design strategies and principles of building sun-shading applicable to Changsha area, which are "economical, efficient, ecological and beautiful" and generalized five developing directions, "specialization, humanization, innovation, integration and localization".
