With the rapid development of science and technology, the operational speed of the electric locomotive is even faster.Which makes the railwaytransportation superiority more and more obvious.In view of the fundamental realities of our country of "more people and less land", the development of the railway transport is significant.The Railway transport is electric locomotive primarily and as an indispensable part of the electric locomotive drive, the traction transformer has been paid a growing emphasis on. The traction transformer is a multi-winding, high leakage transformer. Its functional principle is as the same as the nomal transformer. The traction transformer has special working conditions,there is vibration when moving,its space is limited,there is a great electrodynamic force when there is short circuited fault in the secondary windings.To suit these conditions,the traction transformer need to bear higher electromagnetic load,use forced circulation oil cooling and its parts and supporting structures is hard enough.Because of the special conditions,it is important to do multi-physics analysis to the maint ransformer of electric locomotive,that includes electromagnetic field, temperature field and force field,etc.The content of this paper includes three parts.The first part includes only chapter one, it introduced the development of the electrified railway, expatiated the history of the electric locomotive in China,showed the particularity of the transformer of electric locomotive and its research meaning.The second part consis of chapter two and three,chapter two introduced the FEM-finite element method, and chapter threee calculated the short circuit impedance on the basis of concrete model. The third part includes chapter four and five.In chapter four,it analyzed the electromagnetic field,temperature field and chapter five analsys the force field of the convter transformer.In the end,summaried the research prospect and propose improvements.
