As the power plant of the hydraulic system, hydraulic pump is paid close attention to by more and more people, because its capability can directly affect the work reliability of the whole hydraulic system. The new variable radial piston pump researched in this paper is a kind of new energy-efficient hydraulic power components. 250mL/r Radial piston pump is a large axial flow of radial piston pump. At present this kind of pump produced by our school is based on the similar theory design of the 63mL/r radial piston pump which has a mature technical, and its shell appears looks like very heavy. So we decide to get the further theory, this essay will optimize and do finite element analysis to the pump body of 250mL/r radial piston pump with the finite element method. The study follows:(1) Firstly, it expounded the structure and working principle of 250mL/r new variable radial piston pump. Besides, the body of radial piston pump was done by the mechanical analysis, and calculated the theory thickness of pump structure.(2) Secondly, finite element analysis software ANSYS, the pump radial piston element static analysis, obtained for pump body stress, strain and deformation, verify pump body strength and stiffness.(3) Thirdly, the pump structure was modeled with parameters by the use of ANSYS software, and designed by using the optimization modules of ANSYS software. (4) Last but not the least, ANSYS software with the pump before and after the modal analysis of the radial piston pump with the rotor modal analysis are compared in order to avoid radial piston pump resonance phenomenon occurs at work, to demonstrate that optimization of this topic correctness . Through this research contents above, this essay concludes as follows:Through FEA of the pump body, the maximum stress of nodes is 67.4MPa, the maximum strain is 4.69E-3, and the maximum displacement is 0.0155mm, the results showed that the strength and stiffness of pump body is safe; through the structural optimization of pump body, it was reducing the pump body weight, in a word, reduction of pump body weight is 15.77%; The before and after optimized of the shell was analyzed on the modal analysis by ANSYS software, and compared to the modal analysis the rotor. The result showed that the optimized structure of the pump body effectively avoided the resonance phenomenon occurs with the rotor.
