Short-leg shear wall structure is a new lateral force resisting system which is widely used in High-rise residence. For the moment, many research scholars have made correlative experimental and theoretical study on the mechanical, deformative and energy dissipation behaviours of short-leg shear wall with different cross section. But, as a result of limitation of experimental condition, most of these studies are base on single short-leg shear wall member. In this paper, put T and L-shaped short-leg shear wall member in the whole structure to process integral and cooperative analysis using finite element method. According to this method, we can acquire the response of short-leg shear wall with different cross section under 7°(0.10g) common and seldom earthquake actions.Firstly, the definition of short-leg shear wall and the application and research situation of short-leg shear wall are introduced in this paper. Secondly, the constitutive relation of reinforcement and concrete, and the element stiffness matrix of beam, column and wall in finite element structure model are presented. Thirdly, the analysis method of dynamic elasto-plastic time-history analysis used in analyzing earthquake response of short-leg shear wall structure is expatiated. According to the purpose in this paper, T and L-shaped short-leg shear wall integral structure models with four wall ratios of length to thickness being 5, 6, 7 and 8 are designed. Then, those models are analyzed elasticly under 7°(0.10g) frequent earthquake and analyzed elastic-plasticly under 7°(0.10g) rare earthquake actions, and also acquire their Seismic Behavior. Lastly the paper provides the reasonable range of ratio of length to thickness and the general design principles of short-leg shear wall with different cross section.
