With the success of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games held, the 2010 Shanghai World Expo proceeding smoothly , and will welcome the World Horticultural Expo in Xi'an, all these will take for new opportunities and challenges for Chinese urban landscape . And it is caused pay more attention by the development for the Chinese urban form all aroud the world.City Plaza, as a symbol for history and culture of a city, plays an important part of the urban landscape. It has naturally become an important means of improving the urban environment by the government. But many cities in China there have been much misunderstanding and design deficiencies, such as blindly hankered for large on ceremony with vigor in the square; do not pay attention to human design in the process of urban construction. So lost the essential connotation of the square: designed for man.For all these problems, I believe that it is mainly pre-positioning for the design of city square and not sure exactly, meanwhile missed specific guidance methods.Thesis scope of the study is positioning of the city square design. Through the data collection and research in the practice can get the in-depth theory of system with urban plaza design of positioning system, and put forward to provide the relevant reference for man.Main contents and conclusions:1.From the many problems with the current the construction in the city, we will analyze that the deep-seated problems. And propose the theoretical system and guiding principles about the design positioning for city plaza.The theoretical system of design orientation includes that the nature positioning, scale positioning, function positioning, concept positioning, and shape positioning. These five-parts made up of an organic whole and be interactived and interconnected.The guiding principles of design orientation is that the whole principle of unity; ecological sustainability principle; the principle of human orientation; function of complex principles and the principle of workplace diversity.2.For the research depending on the support of the related disciplines, the paper on the City Square we will based on the method of "systems theory method ", and propose the specific reference system on method and theory.The five aspects of City Square Design positioning is covered urban planning and urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, environmental psychology, and more disciplines. Design positioning method is a more comprehensive system in the paper.
