Research On Small Kitchen Appliances Based On Universal Design Theory

In the 21st century , society is in rapid development times ,many problems turn up ,such as material word have changed quickly , energy crisis ,environmental degradation ,attention to vulnerable groups .Now ,In more and more countries ,the proportion of aging population has greatly increased ,that needs a new design concept ,which can meet the requirements of this stage .In this social context ,universal design is brought in ,and be applied to more and more areas of human life gradually .In this paper ,I take the kitchen space as a background ,take the peoples'demand as Beacon ,analyze the small appliances'universal design in the kitchen .In recent years ,the family kitchen is the common space for different groups ,also is important to human living space ,this region also directly affect the general level of harmony of life and family harmony .Small kitchen appliances is an important factor of the kitchen area ,where have very large different user groups .Different user groups require the product have great tolerance to the maximum extent ,that can meet the need of the broader population .Universal design is the design concept that can meet the requirements of the kitchen product design .This article is to explore the definition ,principles and applications of universal design ,on this basis ,bring the universal design concept into the design of small kitchen appliances .From the perspective of Man-machine Engineering ,on the basis of universal design theory ,analyze the affect that come from kitchen environment ,the kitchen users and kitchen users . When analyze the broad users of the kitchen, I summarize four level groups and propose"Easy to identify design"and"Easy to operate design". Finally ,the article bring the universal design concept into the microwave ,and conduct the microwave design practice ,then ,evaluate the design practice by universal design system evaluation method.
