In this paper, the research object is electrical-hydraulic stepping cylinder which is the product of ISHIKAWAJIMA-HARIMA HEAVY INDUSTRIES CC. LTD. The operating principle, the primary control fashion and theory of electrical-hydraulic stepping cylinder are researched in detail in the paper.In this paper, through analyzing the basic principle of electrical-hydraulic stepping cylinder, simplified it as the triple valves controlled differential cylinder's physical model. Based on this used the known system and part's parameter has established the mathematical model, this model can accurately embody static and dynamic characteristics of this system.On basis of established reasonable mathematical model, in this paper MATLAB software was applied to analyze the stability of the system. At the same time, the curves indicating the system dynamic characteristic were gained by the Simulink of MATLAB software. By analyzing results of simulation, though gained results can meet system's request, some defects still exist.Based above analyze, on basis of understanding in detail control theory, in this paper, PID controller were brought forward to improve the system characteristic, control effect was got greatly improved. In order to improve the system characteristic, the last in the paper fuzzy control was introduced and one kind of fuzzy adapting PID controller was used in the system. The simulation result had indicated this control method can improve the system's rapid response and high stability, has realized the system performance optimization.
